Special Counsel David Weiss Unhappy with Hunter Biden Pardon
When Joe Biden pardoned Hunter Biden, he went back on a promise he had been making since his campaign was launched.
Conservatives were livid when the pardon was issued, and apparently, we were not alone.
Special Counsel David Weiss, the prosecutor who took down Hunter, is now voicing his displeasure over the pardon.
That’s Not Justice
Weiss’ report on the Hunter Biden prosecution was released to Congress this week, and Weiss did not pull any punches.
Weiss ripped Joe Biden for pardoning more than a decade of patterned behavior.
More to the point, Weiss chided Biden for making the claim the allegations against Hunter were not true.
He stated, "This statement is gratuitous and wrong.
"Other presidents have pardoned family members, but in doing so, none have taken the occasion as an opportunity to malign the public servants at the Department of Justice based solely on false accusations."
The report continued, "These prosecutions were the culmination of thorough, impartial investigations, not partisan politics.
"Eight judges across numerous courts have rejected claims that they were the result of selective or vindictive motives.
"Calling those rulings into question and injecting partisanship into the independent administration of the law undermines the very foundation of what makes America's justice system fair and equitable. It erodes public confidence in an institution that is essential to preserving the rule of law."
Weiss concluded, "The President's characterizations are incorrect based on the facts in this case, and, on a more fundamental level, they are wrong."
I have been vocal in opposition to Jack Smith releasing his report, but have fully supported the release of the Hunter Biden report, and it is far from politically motivated.
Hunter Biden was found guilty in one case, and he pleaded guilty in a second case, so he was fair game.
Not only were the charges dropped against Donald Trump, but there are still two co-defendants being tried, so the release of the Trump report could hurt their cases.
This is apples and oranges, even though the mainstream media will never see it that way.
