Speaker Johnson Warns MTG Her Agenda Could Turn House Over to Dems

The feud between Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) has not cooled at all.

Greene continues to talk about her motion to vacate, appearing not to care how the ouster of Johnson could impact the balance of power in the House.

Johnson is now warning her to back off, fearing that if she goes through with her motion, we could wind up with a Democrat Speaker very soon.

Just Stop It

Johnson tried to address this issue with MTG, but she apparently is not very interested in what he has to say.

While they have spoken on the matter, she has not backed off her stance.

Johnson recently held a press conference to discuss the subject, stating, “It doesn’t serve our interest, I didn’t think, to not fund the government and shut it down at this critical time.

“That just wasn’t an option. I don’t think that would be helpful to us from a political standpoint for the Republican Party to continue to govern, to maintain, keep and then grow our majority in November.

“I thought that would have been a great hindrance to it. And so that wouldn’t be helpful, and nor does the motion to vacate help us in that regard either. It would be chaos in the House.”

Johnson also addressed the issue during a recent interview…

Greene still has not backed off, however, recently telling the media, “He does not have my support and I’m watching what happens with FISA and Ukraine. Those are the two things that we’ll all be watching.”

This is a very difficult situation, and I understand both sides, but Greene really does need to back off at this point because ousting Johnson would be a disaster for the GOP's ability to hold the House in 2024, which is already going to be a challenge.

Somehow, Johnson needs to unite this caucus, and he can do that if he simply abides by the rules that were negotiated regarding legislation, which he did not follow when he passed the $1.2 trillion spending bill that kept the government operational.

Johnson keeps helping Democrats when Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) has been quite clear that he has no intention of helping Johnson pass any legislation that does not fit the Democrat agenda, and members like MTG have had enough.
