Southern Border Wall Construction Refired After Trump Takes Office
One of Joe Biden’s first orders of business after taking office in 2021 was to halt the border wall construction.
One of Donald Trump’s first orders of business after returning to the White House was to get the project fired back up again.
On Saturday, Border Patrol boss Michael Banks announced that wall construction had already started.
It’s Back
The thing that always amused me about the Democrat stance on the border wall was how much they blasted Trump for the construction and materials cost.
Yet, they had no problem letting Biden waste all that money on materials and construction contracts when he halted the project.
Some materials were still left, although most were reportedly garbage, according to Texas officials who tried to buy up what they could.
Even so, the construction has already started again, with Banks stating, “Efforts like installing wall panels to fill critical gaps in Deming, New Mexico, exemplify our commitment to enhancing infrastructure and operational effectiveness.”
Banks’ post included pictures of sections of new border wall fencing going up to fill in the holes that were left when Joe Biden halted the project.
We know Democrats will never refund this project, but I would suspect that Trump, Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), and Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) are going to use reconciliation to force through the funding.
Border security was clearly an issue in this election, so Trump is going to move on this while he has the support of the American people.
Again, I fail to comprehend how Democrats do not realize one of the leading factors in the increase in inflation in this country was the loose border policies of Joe Biden, especially when it comes to housing.
I can tell you firsthand that housing costs in Texas went through the roof because of how much the demand for housing in the state has risen over the last three years, largely in part because of all the illegals that have entered the country.
