Son of 'Pawn Stars' personality Rick Harrison dies of overdose at age 39
Rick Harrison, one of the stars of the popular reality TV series Pawn Stars, has suffered a true family tragedy upon learning that his son, Adam Harrison, died of a drug overdose, as Fox News reports.
The death of the 39-year-old was confirmed in a statement issued by a representative speaking on behalf of Rick Harrison.
Beloved son, brother
As Fox News noted, Adam Harrison was the son of Rick Harrison and his former wife, Kim.
Though Adam was not a regular on the TV series made famous by others in his family, he was said to have spent time in the past working at the Las Vegas pawn shop at which the show eventually took place.
Adam's brother, Corey Harrison, has been a regular presence on the popular show, alongside Rick Harrison, Richard “The Old Man” Harrison, and family friend Austin Russell, affectionately known as “Chumlee.”
TMZ reported that Adam was said by some to have worked as a plumber, but not much else was publicly known about his life prior to its tragic end.
Family reacts, condolences pour in
Soon after the news of Adam's death hit the media, his father took to Instagram to offer a loving remembrance, as PEOPLE noted.
Under a photo of himself with his late son, Rick Harrison wrote, “You will always be in my heart! I love you Adam,” including a broken heart emoji in the post.
Corey also used social media as a vehicle to express his grief, posting a photo of himself with Adam when the two were young boys and addressing his late brother by his nickname by writing, “Wax wtf I will always love you bubba.”
The Harrisons also issued a formal statement on the matter, saying “Our family is extremely saddened by the death of Adam. We ask for privacy as we grieve his loss.”
Condolences were notably sent to the family by Donald Trump Jr, who had previously campaigned together with Rick Harrison on behalf of GOP Senate hopeful Adam Laxalt.
“I'm so sorry man,” Trump Jr. said, succinctly echoing the sentiments of millions of Pawn Star fans all over the world.
