VA Lt. Gov. Winsome Sears Says She Cannot Support Trump

The RNC has already endorsed Trump for 2024, but Ronna McDaniel may have jumped a little too soon.

We are seeing some very high-profile names bail on Trump, and these are by no means anti-Trumpers.

They are just individuals that want less drama, less chaos, and to turn the page over to a new generation of Republicans.

Virginia Lt. Governor Winsome Sears can now be counted in that group.

Time to Move On

Sears is reading the election results much the same way I did.

We all know Trump racked up a lot of wins, but that was all fluff.

I maintained from the outset that Trump would be judged on the handful of candidates he endorsed that were against the grain.

If they won, it would be an endorsement of Trump.

If they lost, it meant people were ready to move on.

To that point, Sears stated, “I could not support him. I just couldn’t.

“The voters have spoken, and they’ve said they want a different leader.”

Well, I really don’t want any leader, Ms. Sears… I like to think we are electing a representative.

She continued, “A true leader understands when they have become a liability.

“A true leader understands that it’s time to step off the stage, and the voters have given us that very clear message.”

Save the word leader, I agree with what she said.

As things stand right now, I do not believe that Trump has the national draw to win a general election.

Will he win the primary, yes, but as I have said many times, this is NOT about the primary race.

If he wins the primary and loses to Joe Biden again, what excuse does he give?

Who’s fault will it be when we were all begging him to step back and allow DeSantis to take the lead?

My guess is that Trump will be blaming everyone and anyone but himself.
