September Sets New Record for Migrant Encounters at Border

Just as we predicted, once the weather started to cool, the numbers at the border would start to go on the rise again.

That is exactly what happened, with a new record being set.

There were 227,000 encounters in September.

This puts the final count for the Fiscal Year 2022 at 2.3 million, which is also a new record.

Delayed Release

We knew the reports were going to be bad, but I don’t think anyone anticipated this number.

We were three weeks into October and no report had been filed, so it was pretty apparent that the administration was nervous.

They tried to avoid the news cycle by dumping the numbers late on a Friday night, but we are not going to let them get away with that.

Beginning in 2019, September numbers for migrant encounters were 52,546, 57,674 in 2020, 192,001 in 2021, and 227,000 this September.

So, you can see, this issue is far from over with Biden in office.

The administration offered nothing but spin, actually claiming they are making progress.

If setting a record at the border for migrant encounters is progress, I would hate to see how they define failure.
