Senator Ted Cruz Among Those Pushing Alleged ABC Whistleblower
The day after the debate aired, a social media post about an alleged whistleblower from ABC blew up.
The report claimed the individual had signed an affidavit that the debate had been purposely rigged in favor of Kamala Harris.
The question now is if that whistleblower post was legit or if it was made up.
Pushing the Post
So, I first heard about this alleged whistleblower in a group chat with some conservative friends, and I questioned its authenticity right from the start.
My biggest question was if this individual knew about this, why not make it public before the debate and put ABC News on the spot? Anyone can say anything after the fact. Just because they say it does not mean it is true.
There were no corroborating reports other than on the one post, but that post started to go viral to the point that Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) posted about it, also giving the disclaimer that he was not sure if it was legit or not…
🔥🔥🔥
If this is accurate—and I do not know that it is—it would constitute one of the gravest violations of journalist ethics in presidential debate history.
If true, multiple senior people at @abc should be fired. https://t.co/OV9sG4sQL3

Among the claims were that Harris was given the questions beforehand and that Trump would be fact-checked during the debate, while Harris would not.
After the fact, we found out that Harris and one of the moderators were sorority sisters (different schools at different times) and the woman who oversees ABC News for Disney is a neighbor of Harris’.
Now, I don’t want to lend credence to the whistleblower report without confirmation, but even one of the moderators, Linsey Davis, admitted during a follow-up interview after the debate that she was going to fact-check Trump so that the same thing that happened to Joe Biden would not happen to Harris.
Just to give you an idea of how these things get out of control, another report surfaced that the alleged whistleblower had been killed in a car accident, which Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) pushed, but later had to admit the report was bogus.
Now, I don’t know if there is a whistleblower, but I would definitely say the results of the debate warrant an investigation to see if this was a rogue action by Davis (and if it was, she should be fired), or if this was a concentrated effort by Disney and ABC leadership to tilt the debate.
I think most of us would agree that we don’t need a whistleblower after seeing that debacle take place.
