Senator Graham says he will back Gabbard, Patel, and Kennedy
Three of Donald Trump’s most controversial nominees have been going through their confirmation hearings.
All three of them, Kash Patel, Tulsi Gabbard, and Robert F. Kennedy Jr., have resistance on both sides of the aisle.
One Senator that was a maybe, Senator Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), has just announced he will be a “yes” on all three.
I’m Voting Yes
Graham has been skeptical of all three nominees, but he was apparently impressed with their confirmation hearings.
For instance, Graham had met with Gabbard back in December, but the reports on the meeting as well as her meetings with other Senators at the time were not good.
Graham, at the time, stated, “We’ve had policy differences. I know her, I like her, you know. She wanted to stay in the JCPOA. I thought that was a mistake.”
Graham has now gone from niceties about her to fully endorsing her nomination…

Of the three nominees, I suspect that Gabbard will be the toughest one to get across the finish line because a lot of Republicans remain skeptical about her.
For instance, Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) admitted that there were serious reservations about her among party members and that he “understand[s] that people have their differences of opinion.”
I have also been skeptical, with Gabbard now a reformed Democrat, but that is because I don’t trust politicians, more specifically, Democrats.
I would have preferred to see Gabbard as the head of Veterans Affairs, which I felt was a perfect fit for her.
Having said that, I am very much willing to listen to them all, and at this point, I feel better about her, but am still not totally convinced.
My main concern right now is Kennedy, as I am still very weary of handing the HHS over to him, even though I do like some of his programs. I think Kennedy hurt himself by twisting some information during his hearing which was very easy to prove false.
We will know soon enough, as I suspect we will get voting dates from the respective committees very soon.
