Senate Republicans undecided on Tulsi Gabbard confirmed Biden's nominee for same role
If I was Donald Trump, there's little doubt I'd be RAGING over this.
DailyCaller.com is reporting that most of the Senate Republicans who are currently undecided on the Tulsi Gabbard vote had no problem confirming Democrat Joe Biden's pick for the same role.
So Sleepy Joe Biden's pick for the same role was good enough for them, but these Republicans won't trust the leader of their own party?
Despite Tulsi Gabbard being scheduled to testify before the Senate Intelligence Committee on January 30, many GOP senators have been noncommittal at best regarding her nomination to serve as Donald Trump's Director of National Intelligence.
At least some of these Republican senators, such as (Moscow) Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, Susan Collins of Maine, and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, previously voted to confirm Avril Haines as Joe Biden's Director of National Intelligence.
Murkowski might be the most noteworthy name on this list, as she voted in favor of a whopping 19 out of Joe Biden's 21 Cabinet nominees back in 2021.
It makes you wonder which party Murkowski is really working for if she was so eager to confirm almost all of Joe Biden's picks, but seems ready to refuse Tulsi Gabbard the job.
Murkowski was very public about her opposition to another one of Donald Trump's nominations, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
"I commend Pete Hegseth’s service to our nation, including leading troops in combat and advocating for our veterans. However, these accomplishments do not alleviate my significant concerns regarding his nomination," Murkowski said about Hegseth.
She continued, "While the allegations of sexual assault and excessive drinking do nothing to quiet my concerns, the past behaviors Mr. Hegseth has admitted to, including infidelity on multiple occasions, demonstrate a lack of judgment that is unbecoming of someone who would lead our armed forces."
Senator John Curtis of Utah is another one who is "undecided" on Tulsi Gabbard.
"Senator Curtis believes that every president is afforded a degree of deference to select his team and make nominations," a spokesperson for Curtis said. "He also firmly believes in and is committed to the Senate’s critical role to confirm or reject nominations based on information and insight from confirmation hearings. Curtis takes his constitutional duty to provide advice and consent seriously and his goal is to ensure that Utahns’ voices are heard. He plans to carefully examine the records and qualifications of every nominee President Trump sends to the Senate."
Do you think Tulsi Gabbard will ultimately be confirmed? It's probably going to be very close!
