Vladimir Putin now appears to be firing off missiles at random.
Only a day after killing 19 people (initial reports were 10), he sent another volley of missiles into Ukraine.
The UN Human Rights Office is already categorizing the attack as a likely “war crime.”
Killing Citizens on Purpose
These attacks are horrific.
Among the targets Putin hit on Tuesday were a school, a medical facility, and residential buildings.
So far, one death has been confirmed, but workers are still going through the rubble.
According to reports, at least 12 long-range missiles were sent into Zaporizhzhia.
Three more missiles struck in Lviv, once against taking out the grid.
Power had only just been restored from the previous attack.
Russia is clearly targeting energy facilities now, hoping to break Ukraine by crushing its grid.
Ukraine Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba stated, “These are war crimes planned well in advance and aimed at creating unbearable conditions for civilians — Russia’s deliberate strategy since months.”
Ukraine did manage to take out some of the missiles, or this would have been far worse.
The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights stated, “We have to stress that intentionally directing attacks against civilians and civilian objects — that is objects which are not military objectives — amount to a war crime."
The commissioner further called on Russia to “refrain from further escalation.”
Adding, “Attacks targeting civilians and objects indispensable to the survival of civilians are prohibited under international humanitarian law.”
I would say that this warning will fall on deaf ears because the last two days have seen Putin do nothing but boast about the attacks.
This man is daring NATO to mix it up to start WWIII.
If these attacks keep happening, it is hard to imagine that he will not get his wish.
