Schumer-aligned Group Hit with FEC Complaint

Senator Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) may have some tough questions to answer pretty soon.

A group that tightly aligned with the New York Democrat Senator has been slapped with a charge for possibly violating FEC rules.

The group, the Last Best Place PAC, recently jumped into the Montana race to help defend the Democrat seat up for election in 2024.

Complaint Filed

The link between Schumer and the Last Best Place PAC goes through Majority Forward and the Senate Majority PAC.

Majority Forward has been backing the Last Best Place PAC and it has poured tons of money into Schumer’s Majority Forward Senate PAC.

According to recent financial reports, Majority Forward sent the Last Best Place PAC more than $2 million in funding.

The group, however, has not filed any expenditure reports, as is required by the FEC.

So, Americans for Public Trust (APT) filed a complaint with the FEC.

APT executive director Caitlin Sutherland stated, "Last Best Place PAC is masquerading as a local Montana operation while quietly laundering millions of dollars from DC liberals.

"Spending massive sums of money to impact this election without filing the legally required reports flies in the face of the letter and spirit of our election laws.

“This behavior warrants an immediate investigation by the FEC in order to uphold the basic standards of transparency and public trust."

The group has recently been attacking former Navy SEAL Tim Sheehy, who is running in the race against Senator Jon Tester (D-MT).

Sheehy stated, "The career politicians back in DC are terrified of conservative outsider Tim Sheehy because he’s going to stand shoulder to shoulder with President Trump to drain the swamp, save our country, and put America and Montana First!"

Tester has lost ground in his election and has been reversing course on some issues to try to draw more support.

If Sheehy manages to turn this seat, it will be a huge coup for the Republican Party.
