There is a strong likelihood that Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) will find himself on the wrong side of questioning when the new session begins.
First off, he is likely to lose his committee assignments, a huge fall from grace from someone that is now chairing the House Intelligence Committee.
Second, he is likely to be subpoenaed in multiple committee hearings.
His response to the idea of being subpoenaed just reeks of hypocrisy.
We Shall See
During all the investigations into Trump, Schiff was at the front of the line demanding people be indicted for ignoring their congressional subpoenas.
Now that the shoe is on the other foot, Schiff may not show up.,
When asked if he would honor a subpoena, he stated, “We’ll have to consider the validity of the subpoena.
“But I would certainly view my obligation, the administration’s obligation to follow the law and the fact that they have disrespected the law is not a precedent I would hope that would be broadly followed. We’ll have to look at the legitimacy or lack of legitimacy of what they do.”
This is man that blatantly lied to the American people on numerous front, as well as having leaked classified information to the media for political gain, and he has the audacity to talk about legitimacy.
He led the charge on the legitimacy of the FISA warrants and the Steele dossier knowing full well it was all bogus.
Schiff can afford to be cocky, however, at least for now. He knows there is zero chance that he would ever be indicted.
Any referral by Congress would get handed off to Merrick Garland, and what are the chances that he would dare to indict Adam Schiff?
Probably about the same as ever seeing any serious charges levied against Hunter Biden as long as Joe Biden is in office.
That is the problem when you are investigating the party in charge… they know they are untouchable and will just flaunt it right to your face.
