REPORT: Russian Missile Strike Kills Two in NATO Member Poland

The blast that was heard around the world…

A Russian missile has reportedly struck Poland, killing two people.

This is an attack against a NATO country.

This is also a strike that could possibly start World War III.

Here We Go

Back in the day, the gloves would have already been off, and Russia would be facing an imminent attack from NATO countries.

Nukes change that… now the talking heads get their chance to figure it out first.

To that point, Polish foreign minister Zbigniew Rau had summoned the Russian ambassador to explain the strike in Poland by Russia.

Polish President Andrzej Duda put up a much weaker front, saying that the missile was “most probably” Russian-made.

Pentagon spokesman Gen. Patrick Ryder stated, “First, let me go ahead and highlight up front that we are aware of the press reports alleging that two Russian missiles have struck a location inside Poland near the Ukraine border.

“I can tell you that we don’t have any information at this time to corroborate those reports and are looking into this further, and so when we do have an update to provide, we’ll be sure to do so.”

If Poland invokes Article Five of the alliance agreement, Poland and the 29 additional member states of NATO could be drawn into the conflict.

My guess here is that Russia will either deny it is their missile or try to apologize for an errant strike, but the ball is now in Poland’s court.

Do they push the issue and start what will undoubtedly be WWIII or do they buy whatever excuse Russia tries to sell?

UPDATE: 9;50 a.m CST - Poland's president now says the missile appears to have been a Ukrainian mistake. He stated, "We have no evidence at the moment that it was a rocket launched by Russian forces. However, there are many indications that it was a missile that was used by Ukraine's anti-missile defense."
