Why? That is the question that burns in my mind after reading a report that former NY Mayor and Donald Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani conceded he made false statements about election fraud in the 2020 election, reported the Wall Street Journal.
The concession comes as Giuliani is fighting a defamation case by former election workers.
Giuliani contends that his allegations were protected free speech, so he should not be held liable.
Why Lie?
Donald Trump still believes the 2020 election was completely rigged and he is the person that should be in the White House right now.
Because he believes it, there are about 40 million Americans in this country that still believe this.
Do I think there was election fraud? Yes. Do I think we need a thorough investigation and revamping of our election system to ensure the fraud never happens again? Yes.
Do I think there was enough election fraud to overturn the results of the election… no. The numbers don't jibe with the story that Trump is trying to sell.
I would even concede that there is a possibility that some states could have even been flipped if they dug hard enough, but I just don't see that many electoral votes being found for Trump.
Now, I know many of you are probably really pissed off at me for saying that, but before you start egging my house, know that Rudy Giuliani just admitted that he lied to all of us on this front.
Giuliani admitted, "To the extent the statements were statements of fact and otherwise actionable, such actionable factual statements were false," reported CBS.
Michael Gottlieb, a lawyer for Freeman and Moss, the plaintiffs in the case, stated, "Giuliani's stipulation concedes what we have always known to be true — Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss honorably performed their civic duties in the 2020 presidential election in full compliance with the law; and the allegations of election fraud he and former-President Trump made against them have been false since day one."
This infuriates me on so many different levels that I cannot even begin to explain.
Think of all the damage that was done by these lies, how many people donated for the sole purpose of trying to help prove these allegations being made were true, and it ends up that we were all duped.
Don't be mad at me… focus that anger on Giuliani for blatantly lying to us all.
