Everything is bigger in Texas.
I can tell you, I have never lived or visited another state where the American flag is so present.
Rockwall, TX, a town of about 45,000 people that is about 30 minutes outside of Dallas, is taking that to another level.
Fly That Flag!
When you drive down the highway in Texas, you usually see the Texas flag and the American flag flying proudly at virtually every business and government building.
It will now be easier to spot Rockwall while driving through North Texas.
The city has installed a flagpole about 200 feet off the ground at its tip.
From that flagpole flies a 50' x 80' American flag…
Why put up such a giant flag in such a small town?
Mayor Kevin Fowler explained.
He stated, "Rockwall doesn't question patriotism, but we certainly display it.
"We want to show how patriotic we are."
I don't think anyone will be challenging that idea anytime soon!
