RNC Chair Says All Trump Picks Will Be Confirmed
I have reported quite a bit on Donald Trump’s nominees, both the good and what I believe are risky or unqualified picks.
There are also plenty of Republican Senators who have expressed some concern about these picks, but Republican National Committee Chair Michael Whatley says there are no worries here.
As far as Whatley can tell, Trump has the votes to get every nominee through.
They Will Pass
Even though Democrats don’t have the numbers, there are things they can do to derail Trump’s picks in the committee stages of these hearings.
Even so, Whatley believes when all is said and done, all of Trump’s picks will be confirmed, including Hegseth, Gabbard, Noem, and Kennedy.
Whatley stated, "I do think that Donald Trumps' nominees are going to get confirmed, because they represent the agenda that he ran on. Throughout the course of his campaign, Donald Trump repeatedly pledged to restore the southern border, rebuild our economy and make sure that America is strong enough to protect our interests and our allies around the world.
"Pete Hegseth [the first of the nominees to appear before a confirmation hearing] represents exactly that ethos."
I am glad he brought up Hegseth because that is one of the nominees that concerns me.
I respect the man’s service to this country and dedication to the cause, but as a Major in the Army, he would have been responsible for about 200 troops, and now he will be responsible for millions of them as well as a nearly $1 trillion budget.
I am not saying he might not prove me wrong and be able to step and do this job well, but the only thing I have really heard thus far is his plans to end woke policies (which, by the way, I do support).
There are some real issues at the Pentagon, including upgrading our military, better training, holding officers accountable, and organizing and tracking our assets, including what we send to other nations.
I was flabbergasted when I heard the Deputy Secretary of Defense admit they have no real way of tracking inventory during a panel discussion a couple of years back.
She literally stated they had no idea what they had and where they had it… and I just don’t understand how that could possibly be, not to mention the doors of corruption being kicked wide open with such a lack of control.
I am willing to change my mind about some of these people, but there are others that I simply do not like or trust, such as Vivek Ramaswamy.
Believe me, I would love to be wrong on all fronts, but I firmly believe some of these picks are going to come back to bite Trump, and if that happens, it hurts the GOP and the conservative movement in 2026 and 2028, and I am not willing to risk that just to stroke Trump’s ego.
