Ringo Starr & His All Starr Band Cancel Tour Dates Due to Illness

Former Beatles drummer Ringo Starr had to disappoint fans on the east coast swing of his tour.

The Philadelphia and New York City stops were canceled.

According to reports, the stops were canceled due to illness.

Sorry, Not Coming

On Tuesday, the band announced the cancelations via social media.

The posting stated, “Today Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band announced that unfortunately, they have to cancel their upcoming last two shows including tonight’s performance at TD Pavilion at The Mann in Philadelphia, PA, and tomorrow at Radio City Music Hall in New York City due to illness.”

Unfortunately, it was Ringo who came down with a cold, and his doctor recommended that he take a few shows off to recover.

The shows will not be rescheduled, so ticketholders will have to wait for their refund to be processed.

Ringo, as I am sure just about everyone on the planet knows, rose to stardom as the drummer for the Beatles, replacing original drummer Pete Best before the band hit it big.

Occasionally, Starr would also take the microphone, having been the featured vocalist on Beatles hits “Yellow Submarine,” “With a Little Help from My Friends,” “Don’t Pass Me By,” and “Octopus’s Garden.”

Starr founded his new band, Ringo Starr & His All Starr Band, in 1989, nearly two decades after the Beatles had broken up.

The band has had a rotating group of members, with Starr getting contributions from some of the most incredible musicians of our time.

For instance, some of the previous members were Joe Walsh, Clarence Clemons, Nils Lofgren, and Peter Frampton, just to name a few.

The only consistent over the years has been Starr, who plays drums and piano, as well being one of the vocalists for the group.

Currently, the group consists of Colin Hay (Men at Work), Hamish Stuard (Paul McCartney Band), Edgar Winter (The Edgar Winter Group), Gregg Bissonette (ELO & The David Lee Roth Band), Steve Lukather (Toto), and Warren Ham (Toto).
