RFK Jr. Out of Presidential Debate

Well, it is official… RFK Jr. is out of the first presidential debate.

His campaign did not meet the numbers set by the CNN to qualify, so this will be a head’s up battle between Biden and Trump.

Kennedy was not happy, nor was Trump that Kennedy would be left out.

Advantage Biden

Make no mistake about it, with Kennedy’s agenda, this is a major hit against Trump.

As Trump recently noted, Kennedy's platform includes some very far-left agenda issues, which would have made him attractive to some of Biden’s voters.

If Kennedy had had even a decent debate, he would likely have stolen some of those votes away from Biden.

Kennedy had some decent momentum, but he still failed to hit the 15% threshold needed to join. Kennedy reportedly has also not qualified to hit the minimum 270 electoral college vote eligibility at this point.

Kennedy fumed, stating, "Presidents Biden and Trump do not want me on the debate stage and CNN illegally agreed to their demand.

"My exclusion by Presidents Biden and Trump from the debate is undemocratic, un-American, and cowardly."

He continued, "Americans want an independent leader who will break apart the two-party duopoly.

“They want a President who will heal the divide, restore the middle class, unwind the war machine, and end the chronic disease epidemic."

Biden did not want any third-party candidates on the stage, so he definitely breathed a sigh of relief when Kennedy was disqualified.

Trump’s campaign went the other direction, stating, "President Trump said repeatedly he had no problem debating RFK Jr. and he believes any candidate who qualifies for the ballot should be allowed to make their case to America's voters.

"It's Joe Biden and the Democrats who are using financial and legal resources to prevent RFK's access to the ballot because they know RFK Jr. is a radical leftist who pulls more votes from Biden than President Trump."

In terms of the debate, microphones will only be live when the candidate answers a direct question to avoid crosstalk. There will be no audience, and candidates are not permitted to bring props or notes on the stage.
