RFK Jr. caught trying to make a deal with Harris

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. asked Vice President Kamala Harris for a cabinet position in exchange for dropping out of the 2024 presidential election.

This is according to a new report from the Washington Post

As we will see, Kennedy is now denying the report.

He is also claiming that he will not support Harris's presidential campaign.

Here's what is going on:

On Thursday, the Post published a report, titled, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. tried to meet with Kamala Harris to discuss Cabinet job.

The outlet reported:

Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. sought a meeting last week with Democratic nominee Kamala Harris to discuss the possibility of serving in her administration, perhaps as a Cabinet secretary, if he throws his support behind her campaign and she wins, according to Kennedy campaign officials.

The Post goes on to claim that "Harris and her advisers have not responded with an offer to meet or shown interest in the proposal."

The outlet also claimed that Kennedy made this same attempt with the Republican nominee, former President Donald Trump.

"The Kennedy outreach, made through intermediaries, follows a meeting in Milwaukee last month between Kennedy and Republican nominee Donald Trump to discuss a similar policy role and endorsement that resulted in no agreement," the Post writes.

RFK Jr. responds

Kennedy has responded to the Post's report by labeling it "fake news."

During his recent TikTok Town Hall event, Kennedy said:

That's fake news. I didn't ask Kamala Harris for a Cabinet position but I've reached out to all the candidates. I've met with some. I wanted to meet with all the candidates to talk about dampening down the rhetoric and unifying our country and also talk about some of the issues — ending the wars, et cetera.

Kennedy went on to say that, unlike some of the other candidates, "Kamala Harris has said she doesn't want to [meet with him]." Kennedy also claimed that, as things currently stand, he would not be able to contribute to a Harris administration.

Kennedy expanded on this in a subsequent social media post, in which he said that "VP Harris’s Democratic Party would be unrecognizable to my father and uncle and I cannot reconcile it with my values."
