Retired Border Agents Call Out Democrat Senate Candidate of Stolen Valor
There must be something in the air that has Democrats overstating their service records these days.
Several weeks ago, Governor Tim Walz, Harris’ VP choice, was being criticized for overstating his military record.
Now, U.S. Senate candidate from Missouri Lucas Kunce, who has a very respectable military record, tried to juice with a qualification former Border Patrol agents say he allegedly never received.
Why?
Kunce has served for more than a decade in the Marines and is still serving in the Reserves.
However, Kunce released a campaign video stating that he had been “certified by the Border Patrol Tactical Unit (BORTAC).”
Here is the ad…
The problem, however, is that former Border Patrol agents say that certification does not exist for someone like Kunce.
He may have trained with that unit on some basic things, but the BORTAC unit is considered an elite unit that goes through immense training.
One former agent explained that you would have to be a Border Patrol agent, which Kunce never was. You have to be selected, much like serving in The Unit or being a Tier One operator in the Army or Navy.
You would also have to go through a rigorous selection course to earn the certification, and as far as anyone can tell, Kunce never did.
Another agent was quite clear, stating, “No, we — the Border Patrol does not certify people, per se, in border enforcement.”
He continued, “There’s no way in a short deployment or a short detail to the border or even a joint training session with BORTAC would I ever look at that and then say that person is now a border security expert. That is just silly.”
A retired agent stated, “A simple imposter claim like this steals the value of the hard men assigned to BORTAC teams, and it is a fast track to destroy credibility.”
“The Border Patrol agents in the area that I still keep in contact with saw it and were offended.”
Kunce may have received some short-term training by BORTAC where he got some type of certificate for going through the training, but that is not how he presented himself.
At best, this is a complete misrepresentation of his training, something that seems to be running rampant in the Democrat Party right now.
