Republicans Outraged Over Arrest of Gold Star Father at SOTU

During the early days of the Joe Biden administration, he had one of the biggest military blunders in modern history.

The withdrawal from Afghanistan was rushed and unorganized, which ultimately led to 13 American troops losing their lives during an attack at one of the gates of the airport where people were being evacuated.

The father of one of the Marines was at the State of the Union (SOTU) address, and boy did he give Biden an earful.

Abbey Gate

Steve Nikoui lost his son, Kareem Nikoui, that day, and Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL) invited him to the SOTU.

Biden was touting how much safer he made this country when Nikoui got up and started to scream “Abbey Gate,” which is the entrance to Kabul International Airport where the terror attack took place.

Security immediately pounced on Nikoui.

Instead of merely escorting the Gold Star Father out of the room, he was arrested, with pictures posted on X of the man in handcuffs being escorted by law enforcement.

Rep. Mast later updated everyone on what had happened, posting, “The Sergeant at Arms is holding my State of the Union guest for yelling at @POTUS in protest because his son was killed in action at the Abbey Gate due to Biden’s incompetence.

“So much for the right to petition our government for the redress of grievances.”

He later added, “Joe Biden has never honored those killed at the Abby Gate [sic] and still hails the catastrophic withdrawal as a success!”

Nikoui has since been charged with “crowding, obstructing or incommoding,” which carries a possible fine of up to $500 and 90 days in prison.

Capitol Police justified the arrest by stating that they had repeatedly warned Nikoui to quiet down, and when he persisted, he was taken into custody.

I guess Joe Biden does not think that this man losing his son for no reason is not penalty enough for one lifetime.
