Rep. Virginia Foxx receives medical attention after fall at US Capitol

Republican Rep. Virginia Foxx of North Carolina had a scary medical incident during a recent trip to the US Capitol.

Reports say that Foxx took a tumble on the staircase not long after the House took the vote to determine if Republican Representative Mike Johnson would remain Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Foxx, who is 81 years old, was reportedly bleeding from her nose after a scary fall on the stairs.

While she was reported to have been walking around after the fall, medical attendants had to be called to the scene and helped Foxx to the Capitol physician's office.

The cause of Foxx’s fall has not been confirmed.

However, Foxx took it upon herself to reach out to her followers to confirm the news not long after word of her fall spread across the internet.

Foxx took to X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, to share a health update with concerned citizens.

“Thank you to everyone for your prayers – just a few small cuts, and I’m doing just fine. I’m a mountain woman, and we’re tougher than a $2 steak,” Foxx wrote in the X post.

While we admire Foxx’s good spirits, the cause of her fall has not been confirmed.

It is always scary when you hear about someone in their 80s falling, and it brings about the question if these people are fit enough to be holding office!

While we may never know if any underlying conditions were at play or if Foxx merely lost her footing, we hope it is nothing serious!

Foxx has served this country for many years, and we hope she is still in good health for many to come!

May Foxx recover quickly from her fall and may she never lose her good spirits.

There aren’t a lot of people who would take the fall and have such humor about the matter!

Hopefully Foxx is completely fine, and she either recovers swiftly or is replaced by somebody younger sometime soon.
