Rep. Dan Goldman accused of helping illegals avoid ICE

Democrat Rep. Dan Goldman recently made a series of posts online after sending out tweets in Spanish and Chinese telling migrants how to handle interactions with America's Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Goldman tried to frame the tweets as helping people understand how to interact with ICE, but critics are saying that he's actually helping illegal immigrants avoid the law.

Goldman took to X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, where he shared the information with his followers.

“Every New Yorker has rights when they interact with immigration enforcement. No matter what the next four years bring, stay informed, stay safe, and stay together,” Goldman wrote in a recent post.

“The Trump administration has carried out deportations, raids all across the country including here in New York City,” Goldman said in the video he shared on X.

“These are certainly uncertain times but no matter what it’s important that you know your rights when interacting with law enforcement,” he went on.

Goldman also shared thorough instructions on how to create a “plan for ICE encounters.”

Since making the posts online, he has been accused of attempting to protect criminal illegal aliens, a violation of federal law.

Tom Homan, President Donald Trump’s border czar, previously told the Daily Caller News Foundation back in December of 2024 that “There are federal statutes on the books for knowingly concealing and harboring an illegal alien away from ICE officers.”

“There are statutes on the books about impeding federal law enforcement officers -- they’re all felonies,” Homan went on.

Many think that's exactly what Goldman was doing with his posts speaking to people who may be illegal immigrants.

However, Goldman and his supporters have only defended his actions, accusing Trump of “abusing his power by detaining American citizens and legal residents.”

A spokesperson for Goldman, Madison Andrus, also told the Daily Caller that “the Congressman will always provide his constituents with information to protect them from extrajudicial threats and intimidation, and only someone who supports the use of threats and intimidation would take issue with him doing so.”

Some have now called for Goldman to be expelled from the House, like radio host Mark Levin.

At this point in time, no official action has been taken against Goldman.
