REPORT: USAID failed to monitor NGOs

Over the last few days, I have read some rather disturbing reports regarding Democrats and terror groups.

At the heart of these issues is the Democrat fundraising arm, ActBlue, and how money appears to have been funneled to these groups via USAID.

The Biden administration is already under the radar for having funded so many leftist programs through USAID, this could be the final nail in the coffin.

Do Your Job!

One of my biggest complaints about our government is the lack of accountability regarding funding sources and supplies.

For instance, I believe it was last year when the Deputy Director of the Department of Defense openly admitted the Pentagon cannot pass an audit.

She stated they really have no idea what supplies they have and where they are located. Mind you, this is a department that gets nearly $1 trillion every year, and they have no idea where that money goes.

USAID appears to have been doing the same thing, as, if the report is accurate, many of the agencies where the money was being spent were nothing more than fronts, some of which are believed to have been funneling money to terror groups.

This, by the way, was not a partisan report from Republicans, but an official Inspector General’s report, claiming “USAID/AFG included an optional diversion reporting clause in only some of its project contributions.

“Without diversion reporting, USAID and State will not know the true extent to which the Taliban is interfering with and benefiting from U.S. funded activities.”

The report continued, “Monitoring projects through periodic site visits (including by third party monitors) is an essential management tool to help ensure that U.S. taxpayer money is not being wasted on projects that are not meeting their intended goals or that are undermined by interference by the Taliban.”

According to Secretary of State Marco Rubio, most of the programs being funded by USAID have been canceled, but a lot of this is now in litigation, so just how much of that money will be saved remains to be seen.

Current law states that any money allocated and approved by Congress, then signed into law by a sitting president, cannot be stopped, but I would think there would have to be an exception when you find out that money is going to terror groups.

Not shockingly, the Trump administration lost the first round of that battle, so it will be interesting to see how this plays out once it gets to the Supreme Court, which is extremely likely considering the number of liberal activists currently in our judiciary.
