They say a picture is worth a thousand words. In this case, it really only needs to be worth one.
That one word… betrayal.
If reports are accurate, Ukrainian President Zelensky may be using U.S. equipment in Russian territory, something he was told explicitly not to do.
Pull It
Joe Biden has been adamant that U. S. equipment will not be used in Russian territory.
Part of the deal with the equipment that has been sent to Ukraine is that our equipment will only be used within the borders of Ukraine.
In June, this was confirmed by Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who stated, "The Ukrainians have given us assurances that they will not use these systems against targets on Russian territory."
However, there are reports that at least three American vehicles were used in the recent attack in Russian territory, reports Fox News.
Russia captured two American Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) trucks. The report stated that it was not even regular Ukrainian forces, but instead Ukraine proxy forces.
Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder, the Pentagon press secretary, confirmed that no permission has been given to turn American equipment over to proxy forces, so they are now looking for pictures of the trucks in question to confirm they were part of the US aid package.
Ryder added, "We can confirm that the U.S. government has not approved any third party transfers of equipment to paramilitary organizations outside the Ukrainian Armed Forces, nor has the Ukrainian government requested any such transfers. It's something we'll keep a close eye on."
Former intelligence officer and Russian expert Rebekah Koffler stated, "We're saying to the rest of the world: it's our policy we won't let them do that. But in reality, we want them to do that."
I really don't see why we would want that. Russia has stated many times that if something like this were to happen, it would consider itself at war with the United States. Thanks to Joe Biden, we are in no shape to engage in a direct conflict, certainly not while we are sending billions in equipment to Ukraine.
If Zelensky wants the toy store to stay open, he needs to answer for this immediately.
