REPORT: Trump’s Major Donors Getting Prominent Roles in Administration

So, this is the ugly part of politics that nobody really wants to talk about on either side of the aisle.

That is the fact that big donors for any winning president always end up getting some fairly significant posts if their guy wins the race.

Now, of course, the mainstream media is making an even bigger deal of it because Trump won, and yes, he is handing some prominent roles to the people who wrote the big checks.

Buying Your Way In

We all knew this was coming, and the mainstream media did not disappoint.

While most outlets either ignored the appointments made by Biden or buried them on the back pages, Trump appointing donors is front page news.

To that point, it was front page for CNN that Trump has at least eight donors who wrote significant checks for his campaign.

Those eight picks collectively donated more than $37 million to Trump’s re-election efforts.

Two other picks were members of Congress who transferred some of their campaign money over to Trump.

Then, of course, there is Musk, who is not technically a cabinet member, but he is getting a lofty post as the co-head of DOGE. Musk reportedly donated $277 million this election cycle, with more than $260 million benefitting Trump.

Musk aside, the two most prominent donors were Linda McMahon, whose $ 21 million got her the Secretary of Education gig, and Howard Lutnick, whose $9 million got him the Secretary of Commerce appointment.

Now, when Biden ran, he said he would be appointing “the best possible people,” but he did the same thing, as did just about every modern-day president before him.

Just about every foreign policy post in Biden’s administration went to deep-pocket donors.

But again, this is a “normal” occurrence, with Barack Obama having 31 donors as part of his administration.

This is something about our government that I cannot stand, as people regularly buy their way into prominent positions and ambassador posts not based on qualifications but on their bank accounts.

Using McMahon as an example of the Trump administration, she has a bachelor’s degree in French, and her academic program was laid out for someone who planned on entering education, but she never did that.

McMahon got married after high school, then she was a receptionist at a law firm before joining her husband, Vince McMahon, in their wrestling endeavor.

In 2009, for some reason, she was appointed to the Connecticut State Board of Education even though she had zero credentials in the education field. She resigned from that position about nine months later.

She has run for the Senate twice and lost. She literally has no business in this appointment other than agreeing with Trump that the DoE needs to be eliminated.

This is not the best and the brightest working for American voters, and it never is.

Again, I want to be clear, even though I used McMahon as an example, this is not a shot at Trump. This happens with every administration, and it is something that needs to be investigated and prevented in the future.

Our government is not a play toy for elected official’s buddies and donors, and I don’t care what side of the aisle is in office, I will never support this.
