REPORT: Top DOJ Official Resigning Post Before Trump Inauguration

Another day, another top Department of Justice (DOJ) official is resigning his post.

This time, reports are breaking that Jay Bratt, a member of Special Counsel Jack Smith’s team as well as having served as chief of the counterintelligence and export controls section inside the national security division, is resigning.

Bratt is among those who believe that Trump will come after him for revenge.

Time to Go

The left continues to believe that once Pam Bondi, Kash Patel, and Donald Trump take their posts, the hammer will fall on anyone associated with the indictments against Trump.

A source close to the situation stated, “They’re forcing him out. There isn’t any doubt that, like [FBI Director Chris] Wray, he’s leaving to get ahead of the axe.”

Bratt has been with the DOJ for more than three decades, so his resignation clearly sent some waves through the office.

When Bratt was reached for comment, his office would only confirm his departure and made no other comment on the matter.

Now, turnover is fairly typical with a new administration, but nothing like we expect to see when Trump takes over.

I have seen numerous reports that staffers are running for the hills, to which I say, if you did nothing wrong, what are you worried about?

Bratt is of interest because he is believed to be the official who launched the initial investigation regarding records that Trump took that should have gone to the National Archives.

Bratt is also the one who pushed for the warrant to search Trump’s home, which FBI Agent Steven D’Antuono, the agent who was running the case, called “aggressive.”

The DOJ official also caught the attention of Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), who is reportedly running an investigation involving Bratt via the House Judiciary Committee.
