REPORT: Secret Service Resources Diverted to Cover Jill Biden

The burning question… how did a gunman get so close to Trump at a rally and nearly take out the former president?

Over the last few days, several reports have surfaced, one of which claims that Jill Biden’s appearance drained some of the resources that would have been used to cover Trump.

The report was first broken by Susan Crabtree of RealClearPolitics.

It’s On Jill

According to Crabtree, the team covering Trump was not even his usual security detail.

If that is true, rather than having Trump covered by a secondary team on a day when he had nothing going on, the fill-in team was used when Trump was giving an outdoor rally. That would be mistake one.

Second, Crabtree claimed resources were being stretched that day because Jill Biden was also making an appearance.

Crabtree posted, "Secret Services resources were diverted to Jill Biden's event and away from Trump's because they followed agency protocol applying to Trump as a former president, according to two sources within the Secret Service community.

"But Trump is not just a former president -- he is the first in modern history to have run for president again -- and he has been the focus of several prosecutions and controversies (understatement intentional).

"Who made the decision to divert the resources to Jill Biden's event?"

Regarding Trump’s usual team, Crabtree posted, “Trump’s usual protective Secret Service detail was worked so hard (working 7 days a week with no days off) that many of agents assigned Saturday were temporary replacements from different field offices.

“This is not the usual protocol for sitting presidents and vice presidents but ‘typical’ for former presidents, (although no former presidents have run again in modern history.)”

She then claimed a source told her, “Trump has a permanent detail, however it’s much smaller in the amount of bodies.

“His detail has been worked so hard with all the travel that they’re working 7 days a week with shift changes. so HQ sends in temp agents to supplement - not a good scenario. Mission Failure, IMHO.”

The report went on to say that only one permanent agent assigned to Trump was there that day.

By looking at the videos, it is hard to argue that report, especially when you see an agent that I have never seen before hiding during the shooting and failing to be able to holster her gun, which takes her eyes off her protectee during those few seconds.

This clearly was not the A team, and I would question if it was even the B Team.

Furthermore, did anyone see a helicopter in the air over the event? I sure didn’t.
