REPORT: Reality star Tony Raines arrested for DWI
Once again, someone who should know better has been arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated.
MTV reality star Tony Raines was reportedly arrested early Sunday morning for operating a vehicle under the influence.
Raines was reportedly at an afterparty, got into a tussle, then got into his car and left.
Can’t Do That
Raines was attending a wedding in Hammond, LA.
The report stated that after the wedding, he left and went to the afterparty that was being held at a local restaurant.
Raines reportedly got into an altercation with another man at the party, who allegedly threw a punch at Raines while they were on the dance floor.
Witnesses stated that Raines was upsetting people, which led to the altercation. Raines then got in his car and left.
There are not a lot of details after that, but he was reportedly arrested not long after he left the venue.
Raines was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a count of reckless operation, and four counts of negligent injury.
He was given a $7,500 bond, but as of Sunday, he had not yet been arraigned.
Raines is an MTV reality star, most famous for his appearance on MTV’s “Real World: Skeletons.”
He has also appeared on “The Challenge: Champs vs. Pros” in 2018 “The Challenge: All-Stars season 4” in 2024 and “The Challenge 40: Battle of the Eras,” which also aired in 2024.
It is always baffling to me how people who have means would even consider getting behind the wheel of a car after drinking.
I am far from rich, and I take an Uber everywhere, as do my friends when we know we will be drinking.
Why risk not only your own life but that of others if you lose control behind the wheel? We see this all the time with sports stars, and their leagues have programs in place that all they need to do is call and a call will be supplied, not that they need the league to foot the bill for it. They make enough money, open that Uber app and order it yourself!
So, no, I have zero empathy for someone like Raines who should know better and has the means when they got looked up for a DWI.
Throw the book at them, I say, and teach them all a lesson. It will make the world a much better and safer place.
Raines was married in October 2023 to Alyssa Giacone, his longtime girlfriend.
The couple shares a daughter, and Raines has another child from his first marriage.
