REPORT: Prosecutors Have Enough to Charge Trump for Obstruction

Donald Trump will have at least two more legal hurdles to overcome if he wants to run for president in 2024.

Sources inside the DOJ have leaked to Bloomberg that they believe they have enough evidence from the Mar-a-Lago raid that they can charge Trump with obstruction of justice.

That, however, is not the only challenge he now faces.

Far From Clear

Make no mistake about it, Merrick Garland wants to indict Trump, but he will probably only do it if he is sure he can get a conviction.

Indicting Trump and having him get an acquittal would be a major problem.

For that reason, it is unlikely that the DOJ would indict Trump if obstruction is the only charge they have against him.

Which brings us to the next tidbit.

Judge David Carter ruled that Trump knowingly lied in statements made to the court regarding voter fraud in the 2020 election.

Carter wrote that Trump "knew that the specific numbers of voter fraud were wrong but continued to tout those numbers, both in court and to the public."

He continued, "President Trump and his attorneys ultimately filed the complaint with the same inaccurate numbers without rectifying, clarifying, or otherwise changing them.

"President Trump, moreover, signed a verification swearing under oath that the incorporated, inaccurate numbers 'are true and correct' or 'believed to be true and correct' to the best of his knowledge and belief.

"The Court finds that these emails are sufficiently related to and in furtherance of a conspiracy to defraud the United States."

Trump did his usual rejection on Truth Social, but this is a problem for him whether he wants to admit it or not.

Once again, if Trump decides to declare with all of this hanging over his head, he is going to put his supporters in a very bad spot.

Democrats are already chomping at the bit to get their hands on this case...

They want Trump out, so this is going to get pressed as hard as they can, as this may be the legitimate chance they have to get him.
