REPORT: Obama Worried Biden Could Lose Election in 2024

Former President Barack Obama has been pretty cool on the outside regarding Joe Biden’s chances of winning the upcoming 2024 presidential election.

Behind closed doors, however, things are reportedly quite different.

A recent report from the Wall Street Journal stated that Obama has been expressing some real concern that Democrats could get pounded during this cycle.

Still a Long Way to Go

The report cited the usual anonymous sources close to Obama and Biden, stating that Obama “feels that Democrats very well could lose” in next year’s election.

Trump has been surging in both national and battleground state polling, which is making Democrats very anxious.

At this point, their hopes rest on Trump being convicted of a felony, with Trump’s polling numbers getting cut in half if that happens.

However, with current delays, we may not even see a verdict in any of those cases until after the general election, which would create a nightmare for Democrats who were hoping that Trump would get the nomination in the primary, and then get convicted before the general election, essentially handing the win to Biden.

Barack Obama is far from being alone here, as his former adviser, David Axelrod, has been ringing the panic bell for months on this front.

Additionally, reports started to fly last week that Hillary Clinton was being brought in to help Joe, and she has already launched into her usual attacks about Trump being a dictator and a threat to democracy.

Senator Brian Schatz (D-HI) latched on to Trump’s line of being a dictator on his first day in office to secure the border and re-open drilling, and Hillary just piled right on…

Trump has embraced this narrative, using it to poke Democrats, even doubling down on it during a recent town hall event with Sean Hannity…

Joe Biden is clearly in trouble, and Democrats have every right to be worried, but the general election is still 11 months away, so I would not be getting too cocky if I were in the Trump camp, especially because of the polling if he gets convicted of a felony.

If Trump gets the nomination and fails to win this election, my guess is that the balance of power in Congress goes with him, so regardless of polling, we need to continue to push down-ballot candidates to ensure, at the very least, Republicans can hold the House and retake the Senate to block Democrats if we cannot win the White House.
