REPORT: Melania Will Have Significant Input for VP Selection

Just how important is the vice president on the ticket?

Generally speaking, polling says it only plays a minimal role, but I believe, for both sides, it will be fairly significant this time.

With Biden’s age and Donald Trump’s age and legal problems, regardless of who wins, the VP could be sitting in the Oval Office before the end of the next term.

Melania Choosing

Trump insiders believe that even though Trump puts little weight on the VP in terms of being elected, Melania will more than likely have a large say in the matter.

One source told Fox News, "Mrs. Trump will most certainly speak her mind when it comes to which person she thinks would be best to serve alongside her husband as he attempts to take back the White House.

"Whether or not Trump takes her advice when selecting his running mate will be determined later down the road. It's safe to assume, though, based on what I've seen in the past, that she will be upfront and candid about whether certain people are fit to serve as vice president.”

Author Kate Anderson Brower noted in her 2018 book that it was Melania that put the stamp of approval on the VP during the 2016 election.

In "First in Line: Presidents, Vice Presidents and the Pursuit of Power," she wrote that Melania wanted a “safe” and “clean” VP on the ticket.

She continued, "That meant no affairs and no messy financial entanglements. In short, it meant no drama. She realized her husband had enough of that already.”

You guys know where I stand on this… for me, the clear choice here is Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.), who can help Trump take advantage of all those minority voters who are running away from Joe Biden right now.

I also think Trump would be well served by making this decision sooner rather than later, taking over the news cycle and trying to create some new momentum for the campaign.
