REPORT: Jill Biden Advocated for Cheatle as Director of Secret Service
Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle is under fire for having screwed up the security plan to protect Donald Trump.
Cheatle brought more fire her way after an interview after she was hired resurfaced where she made it a priority to focus on diversity within the agency.
Now, gasoline has been poured on that fire because it is being reported that Cheatle was appointed after Jill Biden made a big push to have her named Director.
Jill Did It
In addition to Jill Biden, several advisers had made a big push for Cheatle to be given the post, including adviser Anthony Bernal, who is hardly qualified for advising on such a post.
Bernal’s experience is in campaigns, not security, and he was not even very good at that, having created a very hostile work environment within Biden’s campaign.
One source told the New York Post, “Cheatle served on Dr. Biden’s second lady detail and Anthony pushed for her.
“Anthony has no national security or law enforcement experience. He should have no influence over the selection of the USSS director.
“I heard at the time she was being considered for director that Anthony had pushed her forward as an option.”
Another source stated that Bernal’s recommendation was DEI-based, not based on qualifications for the post.
Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN) pounced, stating, “Somebody really dropped the ball. You’ve got a DEI person, a DEI initiative person who heads up our Secret Service.”
I have heard several people vouch for Cheatle’s abilities as an agent, but that does not always translate to leadership.
The Bidens knew Cheatle because she served on Joe Biden’s security detail when he was vice president.
When Biden selected Cheatle, he stated, “When Kim served on my security detail when I was vice president, we came to trust her judgment and counsel.”
Well, her judgment has since gone by the wayside, apparently, because if I had my way, she would be getting charged in the same manner as the Uvalde police chief for what took place on Saturday.
