The administration of transparency is no longer being transparent.
With the mainstream media now finally starting to cover the border issues, the Biden administration is clamping down on all border personnel.
Earlier this week, a gag order was issued.
Now, no border personnel are permitted to speak with the media about border information unless they get direct permission from the Department of Homeland Security.
Border officials are generally pretty open about the information from their offices.
Most of these offices post the numbers on social media or honestly answer questions that are directed to them by the media.
On Monday, Breitbart reported that the administration is putting a halt to that practice. Now, the only way those numbers get posted is with the direct approval of the Department of Homeland Security.
Breitbart reported, "The order was sent under the title 'DHS OPA guidance on social media coordination for the lifting of Title 42.'
"The order was later clarified to impose a ban on the direct communication with outlets or platforms regarding the release of migrant apprehension statistics without DHS approval. DHS OPA is the acronym for the Department of Homeland Security's Office of Public Affairs."
The order was more than likely given to halt any information going out once Title 42 expires, which was originally scheduled to happen on Tuesday.
The Supreme Court has extended the rule for an additional week while the case is on the docket.
However, once the rule is lifted, as its seem inevitable that will happen, the border numbers are expected to increase significantly.
We are already seeing upwards of 7,000 crossings per day, and that number is expected to double over the long run, but the immediate number could be significantly higher than that.
The last thing Biden wants is for people to know that 15,000 to 20,000 people are crossing the border every day when the administration maintains the border is closed.
Should make for some great reports from the Fox News drone, however.
