REPORT: FBI Director Preparing to Resign
It would appear that FBI Director Christopher Wray has finally seen the writing on the wall.
Trump has made it clear that Wray will be gone on his first day in office, already appointing his replacement.
Rather than being tossed out on his ear, it would appear that Wray has finally had the good sense to resign his post before Trump takes office.

The Washington Times was the first to report that Wray has decided to tender his resignation before Donald Trump takes office.
One source stated, “He’s going to be gone at the inauguration. On or before the inauguration.”
As soon as Wray resigns, Deputy Director Paul Abbate will be the acting director until Trump’s nominee, Kash Patel, is approved by the Senate.
If Patel fails to get through the Senate, Abbate would remain in charge until another nominee could be vetted, that is unless Trump chooses to remove Abbate from office as well.
Patel is expected to see resistance from both sides of the aisle, but Republicans seem to be warming up to him.
Patel has the resume to run the FBI, but it is turning over the tables message that has some worried about the future of the agency.
This week, Senator Grassley (R-IA) was the latest to lob a bombshell at Wray, demanding he step down due to no confidence.
Grassley also called out Wray for executing a raid on Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home.
The FBI responded, “The FBI has repeatedly demonstrated our commitment to responding to Congressional oversight and being transparent with the American people.
“Director Wray and Deputy Director Abbate have taken strong actions toward achieving accountability in the areas mentioned in the letter and remain committed to sharing information about the continuously evolving threat environment facing our nation and the extraordinary work of the FBI.”
As I have stated before, I know a lot of people, past and present, in the FBI, and I know that overall the agency is in good shape with good people.
However, there is clearly a rogue element that must be removed, and Patel will have no problem being the bad guy here.
