REPORT: Dems Getting Worried About Fetterman

Since taking office, Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) has actually been very reasonable in his approach to Republicans.

He has been willing to work with Republicans on legislation, and he is one of the few in the Democrat Party who has not prejudged the incoming administration.

With Fetterman now having gone to Mar-a-Lago to meet with Trump, there are whispers flying that Dems are starting to get worried.

Motives

The amusing aspect in all of this is that Fetterman is now being accused of having some ulterior motives simply because he is willing to listen.

Longtime Democrat strategist Eddie Vale stated, “I wouldn’t 100 percent rule out that maybe or slightly there is some thinking about different or future opportunities.”

Norman Solomon, a progressive strategist and founder of the activist network RootsAction took it further, stating, “There’s no telling with any certainty what Fetterman’s motivations are. I do political analysis, not psychoanalysis.

“But clearly, he has been moving rightward.”

Fetterman has hardly moved right. What they deem him having moved right is for saying that if an illegal immigrant commits a crime, they should be deported, as well as his support of Israel, a United States ally.

Trump has stated that he would love to work with Fetterman because Fetterman is not rubberstamping a “no” on every piece of legislation.

I just don’t see that as a right lunge, as they are describing it, but I can tell you this… if Fetterman keeps playing his cards right, he could emerge as a very strong presidential candidate for Democrats.

I doubt he would get much support in the party, but voters may see him as a moderate attraction from the normal far-left candidates the Democrat Party has been supporting.

Christopher Nicholas, a Pennsylvania-based GOP consultant and publisher of the PA Political Digest newsletter, says Fetterman is just reading the room and doing what he has to in order to get along.

He stated, “He’s accurately read the room and knows there’s a new sheriff in town.

“He’s very adroit at shocking people and then coming back with a retort when they seem shocked. It’s his modus operandi.”

I don’t want anyone to confuse this for supporting Fetterman to come over to the GOP because that is the last thing I want to see.

What I am saying, however, is that we can use him to help get legislation passed because we are going to need Democrat support in the Senate for Trump’s agenda.

He will be far more useful to us as a Democrat working his party from within, much like I would have preferred Tulsi Gabbard.

Call me skeptical, but I just don’t trust Democrats, past, present, and future, as far as I can throw them (I actually don’t trust very many politicians, period).

My opinion… Fetterman just got the message from the 2024 election, and this is all about self-preservation and nothing more. He is setting himself apart from other Dems, and that is a good thing right now.

But yes, when his seat comes up for re-election, you better believe we need to find a conservative that can take that seat away from him.
