Last Friday, Customs and Border Protection finally released the September and end of FY2022 border numbers.
Over and above the record-breaking immigration numbers, there was another number that stood out rather significantly.
Migrant deaths were listed at 853, but that number may have been far too low based on a Breitbart report.
Too Low
The number is being challenged based on the reporting method by the CBP...
Last year was quite likely the deadliest year ever for migrants at the southern border (with the caveat that the actual death toll is unknowable because some bodies are never found and many disappearances never reported). https://t.co/kLhKK27W6a

The problem is that a lot of bodies are not counted.
When they lose a migrant but cannot recover the body, not counted.
When dead bodies are found on the Mexican side of the border, not counted.
Bodies that are found but not recovered by the CBP, not counted.
The Breitbart source confirmed, “If Border Patrol was not involved in the recovery, the decedent is not included in Border Patrol reports.”
The source added, "The reports also do not include any migrants’ deaths where the bodies or remains are recovered by Mexican authorities.”
Taking that into account, thousands could have lost their lives trying to get to our border because of this administration's new open borders policy.
