REPORT: Biden to Resume Talks with Venezuela

It looks like Joe Biden is trying to throw as many irons into the fire as he can.

Reports are now surfacing that Venezuela’s socialist dictator, Nicolás Maduro, has stated that he and Joe Biden are resuming direct talks.

This appears to be an effort to show that Biden is still engaged and promote the narrative that Biden is good not just domestically but globally.

Let’s Chat

Venezuela’s elections are about as rigged as it gets, and according to Maduro, Biden knows he is the favorite to win, so he wants to make it easy for the parties to open up negotiations.

Maduro stated, “I want to overcome this brutal and sterile conflict with them. I have received the proposal, for two continuous months, to resume direct dialogue with the U.S. government.

“I have decided to restart talks with the U.S. government next Wednesday so that the Qatar agreements are fulfilled, that they are public dialogues and that it is not hidden.

“They know who is going to win, and I am going to make it easy for them. I am a man of dialogue, and I want Venezuela, its democracy, its people to be respected through dialogue.

“I want to overcome this conflict of brutal and sterile confrontation with them, with the north, it is up to them to comply.”

I completely understand why Maduro is looking to reopen talks with Biden, and that would be because he has virtually owned him from the outset of their relationship.

Biden pulled back sanctions as a concession as well as released relatives of Maduro’s who had been convicted of drug trafficking.

All the while, Maduro never held up his end of the bargain, so why not give it another go and see how much more he can get Biden to give up on good faith?
