REPORT: Biden Growing Frustrated Harris Undermining Record
Harris is trying to sell herself as the challenger in this race instead of the incumbent.
She is running her campaign as the candidate of change.
In order to do that, she more or less has to dump on the policies currently in play, and that is reportedly not sitting well with Joe Biden.
Don’t Like It
Right out of the gate, after being gifted the nomination (a nomination I still contend is unconstitutional, or at the very least, needs to be challenged on that front), Kamala Harris dumped on Biden.
At the time, she stated, “I’m obviously not Joe Biden, and you know, I offer a new generation of leadership.”
She continued, “My approach is about new ideas, new policies that are directed at the current moment.
“And also, to be very honest with you, my focus is very much in what we need to do over the next ten, twenty years to catch up to the twenty first century.”
First, if you really want to get under my skin, use “and also” right next to each other in a sentence, but I digress.
Second, “new ideas, new policies” … she has been in office for four years, so where were all these new ideas?
While Harris was distancing herself from the administration, Joe Biden lashed out, saying he delegated “everything” to Harris, including foreign and domestic policy.
Harris' allies are trying to help her create that distance as well, with one person telling NBC News, “I think the difficult part for a lot of people is that this will be the Harris administration. It won’t be Biden Part Two.”
The outlet reported, “Biden has noted at times that Vice President Kamala Harris, who took his place at the top of the Democratic ticket in July, hasn’t been mentioning him in her campaign speeches lately, including when she talks about an economy he believes his policies set on a positive trajectory, these people said.
“And he was particularly stung by one of the recent notable times when she did talk about him — during this month’s debate with former President Donald Trump, three of the people familiar with his comments said.”
This is all on the advice of Harris’ advisers, who are telling her to separate from Biden if she wants to win.
What surprises me is that Biden is not lashing out, as he tends to do when he gets upset with someone.
For the most part, Biden has been toeing the party line right now, but I am not sure how much longer that will last as Harris continues to dump on their administration.
Biden has a very short fuse, so now we need to see if he can keep from exploding over the next five weeks.
