REPORT: Biden Campaign Leaking Information to Media

A recent report in Politico has raised some alarms.

The reason… it appears that the Biden campaign may be leaking information to circumvent campaign finance laws that prevent PACs from directly communicating with a campaign committee.

Once you see the report, it will be hard to come to any other conclusion.

The premise here is that since the campaigns are forbidden from communicating directly with the PACs, they can use the media as a go-between by leaking information.

Case in point, an unnamed source in Biden’s campaign told Politico, “We’ve seen in polling since the conviction that the more the conviction is front and center in voters’ attention, the worse it is for Trump.”

That is basically a directive for the PACs to start hammering Trump on his recent conviction.

The source even gives very specific details about the messaging, saying that the narrative about Trump is that he is “being self-centered and unwilling to take responsibility for his actions.”

Politico then provides a direct quote from Third Way’s co-founder, Matt Bennett, who states, “What the polling clearly shows is there is a group of voters for whom the convictions matter and … it is the voters who are going to decide the election.”

So, this is clearly a workaround for the campaign to signal to the PAC how it wants the ad buys to roll, and the PAC clearly got the message, as we have seen a significant shift in PAC ads now going after the “convicted felon” Donald Trump.

Prior to the trial, if you recall, I had hammered the point that polling showed Donald Trump would take a significant hit in support if he was convicted in one of these felony trials.

While it was not going to shake voters who were already on board with Trump, there were significant GOP voters still undecided and a rather large number of independent voters who were also sitting on the sidelines.

Based on the latest polling, the majority of those voters are now siding with Biden, completely flipping national polls and giving Biden a 14-point swing with Independents. He now leads Trump by two points after trailing Trump by 12.
