REPORT: Biden Adm. Wanted Power to Monitor TikTok Users

The censoring efforts of this administration continue to surface.

The latest comes via a Forbes report that revealed just how active the Biden administration was in trying to censor content that was being posted on TikTok.

So much so, in fact, that the government was seeking final approval for content moderation policies as well as final hiring decisions, reported Breitbart.

Government Overreach

As most of you know, there was a big push by conservatives to have TikTok banned in this country.

Well, the Democrats figured out that rather than ban the outlet, they could turn it into an ally.

Here are just a few of the sticking points that the government was reportedly working out with TikTok to allow the platform to continue to operate in the United States:

“Examine TikTok’s U.S. facilities, records, equipment, and servers with minimal or no notice.

“Veto the hiring of any executive involved in leading TikTok’s U.S. Data Security org.

“Block changes to the app’s U.S. terms of service, moderation policies, and privacy policy.”

The stipulations put on the outlet by the Biden administration have been called a power grab by many, comparable to actions taken after the Patriot Act was put in play after 9/11.

This administration is already facing lawsuits related to censorship, so this “agreement” will be getting plenty of scrutiny.

I liked Donald Trump’s idea better… just ban the platform from operating in the United States and you end the threat. I simply do not trust the Chinese to have access to all that data, which is why I personally do not use TikTok.

TikTok is used quite a bit by Democrats, however, so I would not expect any ban to go in place.

Clearly, that is why this administration is looking to have veto rights over content and personnel, as I would imagine that would be a very strong tool to have at their disposal during an election season.
