Rep. Ogles Files Bill to Defund Jack Smith’s Salary

Defund… that has become the operative word in government these days.

That is also what Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN) is hoping to get his 15 minutes of fame, having presented a bill to defund the salary of Special Counsel Jack Smith.

Ogles introduced the Yanking Outlays for an Unethical, Ruthless Enterprise that Fraudulently Impedes Robust Electoral Debate Act, or the You're Fired Act, on Friday, reported the Tennessee Star.

If the bill were to pass, it would pull federal funding for Smith's paycheck, only it has no chance at all.

Fire Him

Ogles, explaining his bill, stated, "The Biden Administration's weaponization of the DOJ for personal political gain through the appointment of Jack Smith is nothing short of appalling.

"In November 2022, he was tasked with taking down Biden's biggest threat, President Donald J. Trump. From falsified indictments to non-existent supporting 'evidence', everything about the proceedings by Smith has screamed desperate.

"America cannot and will not stand for that, and it's well past time that Congress uses its power of the purse to tell Jack Smith: you're fired."

Reps. Alex Mooney (R-W.V.) and Eli Crane (R-AZ), who co-sponsored the bill, stated, "Biden's Department of Justice is attempting to muzzle the voice of the American people and forcibly impose the Administration's morally corrupt agenda onto this country.

"The weaponization of the DOJ against the political enemies of the Biden Crime Family, by way of left-wing puppet Jack Smith, is contrary to our governing principles. It's simple: patriotic American taxpayers shouldn't be funding the salary of someone actively fighting to suppress their voices," reported the Washington Examiner.

That all sounds great, but this will never be made into a law, so it is nothing more than a headline grab and a waste of taxpayer money.

Democrats control the Senate, so this bill is dead the moment it leaves the House. And even if it could get out of the Senate, does anyone here really think that Joe Biden would sign this legislation?

I get it… Republicans are pissed that the DOJ is being weaponized, but this does no good other than flushing more taxpayer dollars so Ogles and a few of his buddies can get some camera time and a pat on the back by Donald Trump.

Forgive me for getting aggravated over this, but I would prefer members of Congress spend their time and our money doing something constructive, rather than wasting resources on legislation that will never even see the Senate floor.

Every asset we have right now needs to be dedicated to exposing Biden's corruption and fixing our domestic issues, such as veteran homeless, and doing something about the crime-ridden streets of major Democrat-run cities.
