Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) shared that he will be added to the House Republican Steering Committee in exchange for his support of Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) as House speaker.
Donalds shared the appointment during an interview on "Sunday Morning Futures" with Maria Bartiromo on Fox News.

"I'm frankly just happy that it's all over with, and that we got something transformational and sound for the American people," Donalds said.
"Early on I gave Kevin the benefit of the doubt. But it came pretty quickly clear to me that we were getting nowhere. And so, at that point, it was saying, 'OK, how long is this going to go? What's this going to play out like?'" Donalds continued.
"And so it was really about trying to make sure that we can get people to the table in order to construct a framework that everybody in our conference can get behind," he added.
Donalds was also quick to note that the party's biggest concerns are how Democrats will respond to GOP legislation.
"Let's see how serious these Democrats are about securing the border when Republicans start introducing bills to secure the border," he tweeted.
"Something tells me 99.9% of them will vote NO. @HouseDemocrats, Sunday photo ops at the border aren't action. Supporting legislation is," he added.

Donalds has been a strong conservative in his short time in Congress.
His new appointment hopes to add to his ability to represent conservative values as Republicans use their advantage in the House.
