Reformed FBI seeks two Trump-related 'honeypot' agents
An FBI inquiry is underway into the decade-old scheme to infiltrate the Trump campaign using two female undercover “honeypot” agents as Breitbart News reported.
Reports beginning last fall uncovered evidence of an off-the-books probe, initiated by FBI Director James B. Comey in 2015. The whistleblower disclosed the investigation to the House Judiciary Committee last year.
In intelligence, a honeypot is an undercover operative, generally a woman, who fakes sexual or romantic attraction to gather information.
According to the whistleblower, two female FBI undercover employees were instructed to act as “honeypots” when traveling with Trump and his campaign officials throughout the 2016 campaign.

Director Kash Patel and Deputy Director Dan Bongino are currently searching for Comey's undercover staffers whose identities are as yet unknown.
The whistleblower leak distinguishes the inquiry from Crossfire Hurricane, another FBI counterintelligence operation that investigated unproven allegations of campaign collusion with Russia.
A source close to the inquiry said that Trump and his associates were the targets of an early, undercover criminal probe.
On June 16, 2015, approximately one year prior to the opening of Crossfire Hurricane by the FBI, Trump began his presidential campaign.
Case Details
According to the disclosure, the agent who leaked the information "personally knew" that Comey had led and ordered an FBI investigation against Trump.
Instead of focusing on a particular crime, the probe seemed to be more of a "fishing expedition" to uncover anything that could implicate Trump.
According to the whistleblower, Inspector General Michael E. Horowitz of the Justice Department, who looked into wrongdoing in the bureau's investigation into Trump's campaign, was unaware of the covert operation.
“The case had no predicated foundation, so Comey personally directed the investigation without creating an official case file in Sentinel or any other FBI system,” according to the whistleblower’s disclosure.
“The FBI has multiple methods of protecting highly sensitive investigations, so Comey did not have a legitimate reason not to officially create an official investigation file or have a file number.”
