Rapper Dead After Collapsing on Stage
During a Friday night concert, fans of rapper Fatman Scoop were stunned when the artist collapsed on stage.
He was about halfway through his set when he went down and was taken to a local hospital for care.
It was announced later that he had passed. He was only 53 years old.

Hamden, CT, Mayor Lauren Garrett confirmed that Fatman Scoop had collapsed and was treated at the local hospital after collapsing during his set at the Town Center Park.
His agency, MN2S, confirmed his death, adding, "Scoop was a beloved figure in the music world, whose work was loved by countless fans across the globe.
"His iconic voice, infectious energy, and great personality made an indelible mark on the industry."
Scoop’s family also paid tribute, posting, "FatMan Scoop was not just a world-class performer, he was a father, brother, uncle and a friend.
"He was the laughter in our lives, a constant source of support, unwavering strength, and courage."
When he first emerged on the New York hip-hop scene in the 1990s, Scoop was a major player.
His big hit came in 1999 when “Be Faithful” stunned the music world, chopping the charts in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
His music caught the attention of some of the biggest stars in the industry at the time, including Mariah Carey and Missy Elliott, who featured Scoop in their own hits.
Scoop was scheduled to play at the UK’s Reminisce Festival on September 7, with the event calling his death “devastating.”
The festival stated, “He was not just one of our most popular performers, he was a cherished member of the Reminisce family.
“His energy, talent, and infectious spirit will be missed more than words can express.”
