Radio host is fired after blowing the whistle on the White House

A radio host has been fired after she blew the whistle on the White House.

WURD Radio, a Philadelphia-based Black-owned radio station, announced its decision to fire Andrea Lawful-Sanders on July 7, 2024.

The station's statement regarding the situation can be found in its entirety here.

But, before we get to that, we will fill you in on what led to this situation.

The admission

It took place on Saturday, when Lawful-Sanders appeared for an interview on CNN. Now, you may be asking why a local radio host made an appearance on CNN.

As you probably know, Biden had a very poor performance at the first presidential debate, so poor that Democrats are now trying to force him to withdraw from the 2024 election. The White House and Biden have been attempting to push back against these calls, and, to this end, Biden recently participated in some interviews. One of these interviews was with Lawful-Sanders.

It was after the interview that CNN spoke with Lawful-Sanders, and this is when she made bombshell admission.

What she revealed was that the White House - before the interview - gave her questions that they wanted her to ask Biden, and what she further revealed is that she, at least partially, went along with it.

You're Fired!

Now, WURD has fired Lawful-Sanders for going along with the White House's questions.

"On July 3, the first post-debate interview with President Joe Biden was arranged and negotiated independently by WURD Radio host Andrea Lawful-Sanders without knowledge, consultation or collaboration with WURD management," the station explained.

It added, "The interview featured pre-determined questions provided by the White House, which violates our practice of remaining an independent media outlet accountable to our listeners. As a result, Ms. Lawful-Sanders and WURD Radio have mutually agreed to part ways, effective immediately."

This whole situation has led many to ask just how often the White House does this sort of thing. Is it every interview? How about press appearances? What about the debate?

We do not have the answer to these questions. But, a second radio host who recently interviewed Biden has admitted that the White House also fed him questions to ask Biden.
