Questions swirl about Trump health assessment made by physician revealed to be member of Bedminster golf club

The health of President Joe Biden has long been a subject of much debate, and in order to tamp down any concerns about his own status, former President Donald Trump released a doctor's assessment of his own condition late last year.

Controversy about that report has since reared its head, however, after it was learned that the doctor who produced the document, Bruce Aronwald, is a member of Trump's Bedminster, New Jersey, golf club, as the Daily Mail reports.

Trump releases health report

As Axios reported in November, Trump released a letter penned by Aronwald, who was described as the former president's personal physician.

The communication, dated Nov. 20, 2023, declared that Aronwald had been serving as the former president's doctor since 2021 and had performed “several comprehensive examinations.”

Referencing an exam completed roughly two months prior to the date of the letter, Aronwald stated that his finding with regard to Trump's health were “well within the normal range and his cognitive exams were exceptional.”

The doctor added that Trump was “currently in excellent health, and with his continued interest in preventative health monitoring and maintenance, he will continue to enjoy a healthy lifestyle for years to come.”

Relationship questioned

It has since emerged that the man who wrote the glowing account of Trump's health is known as a “fixture” at the Bedminster golf club owned by the former president.

Fueling speculation that Aronwald's report may have been less-than-forthright were claims from those who found it to be surprisingly vague and devoid of typically included details.

Critics noted that Trump's blood pressure readings were omitted, as was his weight.

The rundown on Trump also failed to include a list of any medications the septuagenarian may take on a regular basis, further stoking concerns among the skeptical.

Proof in the pudding

Though Biden's officially released physical examinations have not included cognitive testing results, they have encompassed details such as blood pressure, weight, and medications taken, though such candor does not change the perception of physical and mental frailty that continues to plague the president.

As the 2024 election season heats up, it will more than likely become increasingly evident which of the two major party candidates is the hale and hearty specimen he claims, and which is an elderly man beset by health challenges that seem to worsen by the day.
