Jacob Chansley, better known as the QAnon Shaman, was hoping to have his conviction overturned.
After more footage was released from the rioting on January 6, it was quite clear that Chansley was not the threat that Democrats had made him out to be.
Chansley rolled the dice after he was set free from prison once the footage was released to have his sentence vacated, but the judge was not willing to take it that far, reported Politico.

In November 2021, Chansley had been sentenced to almost four years in jail (41 months). According to Democrats, he was one of the more violent rioters.
However, the footage that was released by Tucker Carlson showed a man that never did anything in anger. In fact, he was taking direction from Capitol security personnel and even hugged one of them.
Chansley’s attorneys stated that the footage that was shown “would have been favorable to Mr. Chansley at sentencing,” reported The Hill.
U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth, a Republican judge, by the way, did not agree with that premise at all.
Lamberth stated, “In fact, without Mr. Chansley’s apparently unequivocal acceptance of responsibility, the Court is confident that he would have received a higher sentence.” That is ludicrous considering the footage we saw.
So, it would appear that Lamberth’s hatred for Trump is being taken out on Chansley.
Not only that, but Lamberth absolutely shredded Tucker Carlson for how he presented the footage, stating, “In so doing, he called on his followers to ‘reject the evidence of [their] eyes and ears,’ language resembling the destructive, misguided rhetoric that fueled the events of January 6 in the first place.
“The Court finds it alarming that the host’s viewers throughout the nation so readily heeded his command. But this Court cannot and will not reject the evidence before it.”
So, Chansley will have to be happy with his early release and current status of being housed in a halfway house, which is where he was moved in March.
