Progressives Do Damage Control Over Leaked Diplomacy Letter

Progressives in the Democrat Party penned a letter back in June to Joe Biden.

The letter asked him to try to negotiate peace to get out of the Ukraine conflict.

The letter was never sent, but it was just leaked, and now progressives in the party are being forced to do some serious damage control.

Didn’t Mean It

Rep. Jayapal (D-WA) is taking the heat for the letter getting out.

She stated, “The letter was drafted several months ago, but unfortunately was released by staff without vetting. As Chair of the Caucus, I accept responsibility for this.”

Members of her caucus that signed the letter are now bailing, saying that the letter was written in June and the situation has changed, so now they would not sign it.

The timing of the letter is horrible, with House Minority Leader McCarthy (R-CA) recently stating that the GOP was done with the blank-check attitude of this administration.

Point being, the letter puts the progressives pushing the same narrative as the GOP.

Jim Manley, an adviser for the late Senator Harry Reid (D-NV), stated, “I believe in the power of diplomacy, and I believe it’s always better to talk to people than not.

“But a key part of diplomacy is timing. And the timing here is absolutely lousy.

“It’s embarrassing for the signers, it undercuts not only the administration but the Ukrainians at a key moment in time.”

The Democrat Party is falling apart right before our very eyes.
