White House staff had a bit of a scary moment over the weekend.
On Saturday, protesters in support of Palestine were threatening to breach the perimeter security fence of the White House.
Concerned that they may make it through, White House staffers were temporarily located while law enforcement dealt with the protesters.
The support for Palestine during this war with Israel has been shocking.
Israel is the most important ally the United States has in this country, yet there is a groundswell of support for Palestine, which has not only allowed the terrorist organization Hamas to operate but also put Hamas in power in Gaza.
Video of the protest showed the fence being shaken so hard that portions of the fence were damaged.
So much so that Secret Service officers were forced to rush to the perimeter to address any possible breaches.
The Secret Service later confirmed that the fencing had suffered some “temporary damage.” The agency added that the fencing had been repaired.
However, because of the damage, some staffers and journalists were relocated.
The Secret Service confirmed, “As a precaution, some members of the media and staff in proximity to Pennsylvania Avenue were temporarily relocated while the issue was being addressed.
“The Secret Service made no arrests associated with the march and there was no property damage to the White House or adjacent buildings.”
Protesters have been demanding that Biden put pressure on Israel to call for a permanent cease-fire.
Some of the signs at the protest read: “No votes for Genocide Joe,” “Biden has blood on his hands,” and “Let Gaza live.”
Publicly, Biden has been supporting Israel, however, reports have been surfacing for several weeks that Biden has privately been pressuring Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to call for a cease-fire and work out some sort of diplomatic solution to the war.
Netanyahu, however, has been adamant that this war will not be over until Hamas is eliminated.
